"Cheese Lab" is a fantastically addictive, up-srolling little game, which you can play on your mobile device for free. It's a twist on the classic runner style game. Instead of running, however, you'll be moving perpetually upwards, collecting cheese for a cute, anthro mouse, and helping him to avoid obstacles such as deadly holographic cheese, and robotic cats.

The gameplay is very simple. Each platform the mouse lands on will cause him to perform a jumping action to propel him to the next platform. Some platforms may vanish after being landed on once, and some may move back and forth. Collect as much cheese as you can without getting killed by the fake cheese, or the cats. There are also helpful powerups, such as jet packs, to help propel the mouse ever higher. The entire game is controlled through a small slider on the bottom of the screen, that controls the mouse's movement side to side. It's easy enough to be learned in a matter of seconds, but the game still presents a challenge.

The upwards movement is more than just a gameplay quirk though. Unlike your standard runner, this clever take allows for limited backwards movement. You still die if you fall off the bottom of the screen, but by falling into a lower platform, you're able to backtrack slightly to collect items you missed before, adding a new level of depth and complexity to the game.

The platform game is also very good about making the obstacle objects visually distinct from the collection objects. It's easy to tell at a glance what you want to move away from, and what you want to move towards. This is a good thing, because gameplay can be surprisingly fast paced depending on the placement of the platforms, meaning quick identification is a must. The fast paced style of play also allows for the game to still present a challenge, in spite of the simple controls. The nature of advancement based on platforms also means that the better the player is at hitting the platforms, the faster it will go.

Overall a fun, action packed platform game, easy to pick up, and easy to play, perfect for use on the go.
