GrindCraft primarily uses a version of the crafting system in order to create a
distinctive game. The graphics all appear to be taken directly from
Minecraft with just a little editing. This is fine since many people
like the pixelated or voxel graphics in Minecraft. You do have some
music and sound effects that are likely taken from the other game as
well. The good thing about this is that it creates a salient and
consistent experience while you are playing. The downside is that it
leaves you wanting three-dimensional graphics.
The point of GrindCraft is to create an entire kingdom of your own. You
do this through resource gathering and crafting. Your basic resources
come from the overworld, mines, agricultural fields and killing
monsters. You start by clicking on the resource to grind them. You
will notice that the first villagers you can create to automate the
grinding process are far away. You need to manually grind for resources
for some time before things become automated as in traditional idle
clickers.
You use the resources you collect to create building materials or parts
of the world like a wheat field. You eventually start to build
villagers or craftspeople. These upgrades unlock even higher-level
items to craft. The structures and people become more complex to build
as you progress. They start to require long chains of items and
resources that you need to build in sequence. The eventual goal is to
build a ship and a port so that you can sail away and settle a new
kingdom on the map.
GrindCraft does have some unique features when compared to other idle
clickers. The fact that you are constantly crafting is a nice change.
The crafting adds a new challenge although it also becomes cumbersome as
you get into the highest-level structures. It does have sufficiently
diverse and interesting gameplay. If you are a fan of idle clickers,
then GrindCraft will give you a unique and enjoyable experience.
