"Endless Truck" is a game that has you controlling a customized, RC monster truck as it navigates an obstacle course.
Players begin with $200 in order to augment their fuel tank, engine, frame, wheels and a "bullbar." The fuel tank determines how long the truck can keep racing before time expires and also serves as a life meter when colliding with planks and explosives. The engine affects your truck's speed. The frame, referred to as a "bodyshell," modifies the weight and fuel stats of your truck. Wheels affect not only the handling of your RC truck but also its speed. The bullbar gives your truck some frontal armor that modifies its defense and weight stats. Despite all of these options, the starting cash is insufficient to pay for any upgrades prior to driving the course at least one time.
Controls are relatively simple, the left and right arrow keys dictate the angle you shift your truck and the space bar will cause your vehicle to jump. This becomes especially relevant while trying to collect dollar bills, to pay for upgrades, and gas cans, to refuel your gas tank.Endless Truck's graphical presentation is competent in the menus and shifts to an isometric perspective when actually driving on a course. Once you've racked up enough currency to purchase an upgrade, that upgrade will be reflected in your truck's model. The game's options menu includes the ability to separately turn off sound effects and background music. As well as an "About" button that takes the player to the credits list.In addition to the presence of a high score leaderboard, players are given a trio of missions to complete on each level. As an example, the first level's trio of tasks is to:
- Perform a flip.
- Earn $150 or more.
- Execute a perfect landing.
Overall, Endless Truck is a good way of killing time on a boring afternoon or on a trip. The only critique about the game would be the occasional ad for other Flash games that manifest during the results screen after crashing your truck. Hopefully, these will soon be removed.
