While the IO multiplayer game genre started out as simple games, such as casting the player in the role of a worm who must avoid other worms, they've now evolved into legitimate games in their own right. The biggest example of how far this genre of gaming has evolved is with "Squadd.io", a multiplayer shooting game that feels like a game you would find on a console instead of your web browser. The goal of "Squadd.io" is simple: Choose your character and attempt to kill the other players before they kill you. "Squadd.io" uses an isometric viewing angle for gameplay, similar to classic games such as "Crusader: No Regret" and "Landstalker." There are a number of different characters to choose from, each one having unique abilities such as the ability to run faster or deal more damage with their bullets. You can also choose your weapon, with guns ranging from standard shotguns and uzis to rocket launchers and laser guns.
There is a decent amount of strategy involved in a standard game of "Squadd.io", as each battleground features copious amounts of cover that you can use to take refuge from the bullets of your opponents. However, all the cover in the game is destructible, meaning that you can't hide behind a wooden box forever. It takes a careful mix of offense and defense to become the victor in "Squadd.io," along with knowing where the power-ups spawn on the map. These power-ups, which range from powerful weapons to a life-giving shield, can give you the edge when it comes to facing an opponent. If you manage to stay alive for an extended amount of time, you'll become the king of the battlefield, which is great until you realize all of your opponents are coming for your crown.
"Squadd.io" uses a simplistic graphical style that is reminiscent of "Minecraft," with characters featuring blocky appendages and big heads. However, despite this simplistic art style, "Squadd.io" does stutter and slow down when there is too much action on the screen at one time. Unfortunately, this slowdown will be the cause of at least one of your deaths in this fast-paced game.

With a persistent unlock system, you'll keep coming back to "Squadd.io" over and over again even with its technical faults. The game is an excellent way to kill a few minutes or spend a whole evening playing thanks to its fast and frantic action. "Squadd.io" is highly recommended for fans of action games.
